The Lower Susquehanna Bulldog Club Rescue is a local Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network organization.  We rescue and place pure-bred English Bulldogs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and surrounding areas.  Being a BCARN affiliate, we are governed by their rules and regulations regarding accepting, rehabilitating, and re-homing Bulldogs.

Is Bulldog Rescue Necessary?
Going by the numbers, about one in every 20 registered Bulldogs will be placed in a rescue programMany buyers are intrigued by the breeds many charms, only later to discover the special care that is required.  Some Bulldogs get lost, are abandoned, or placed in rescue due to no fault of their own, but circumstances which are purely human, such as relocation , divorce, and death.  In the past 8 years, the Lower Susquehanna Bulldog Club Rescue Group has helped over 250 rescued Bulldogs find a better life and every year,  BCARN volunteers all across the country find new homes for about 900 Bulldogs.  We urge anyone considering bringing a Bulldog, or any other breed,  into their lives to take the time to do research and get to know the breed before buying or adopting.  Pet/owner compatibility results in a happy, long-lasting relationship.
How Do I Place My Bulldog in a Rescue Program?
If you happen to find you and your Bulldog in a difficult situation, and are considering placing him/her in a rescue program, please talk to us.  We would be more than happy to help offer suggestions to help you keep your Bulldog.  If no solutions can be found and placing the Bulldog is the only option, we understand.  Our commitment is to the Bulldog and we pass no judgement.
Paperwork to surrender the Bulldog must be completed before we can accept the dog. This paperwork includes medical history,  and temperament and behavioural information. Once the paperwork is complete and signed, the Bulldog becomes the property of the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network.
While in our rescue program, the Bulldog will be vet-checked and provided any necessary medical treatment, evaluated to determine temperament and behaviour, and fostered with one of our dedicated volunteers.
To surrender a Bulldog, please contact Kathy DelGrande at 717-571-3965 or poolgirl17110@hotmail.com.
Considering Adopting a Rescued Bulldog?
Bulldogs that come through a rescue program are seldon in "perfect" condition, and puppies are rarely available.  Frequently it is because of health and/or behaviour issues that the dog is placed in rescue. However, some dogs are unfortunately on the wrong end of a relocation, divorce, or new job and are just looking for loving homes.  We do our best to evaluate behaviour and temperament and treat medical conditions, but there is never any guarantee with any rescued Bulldog.
If you have done your research on this breed and are certain this is the breed for you, please "Contact Us" to begin the adoption process, which includes  application paperwork, an interview, possible home visit and adoption fee.   If you have not yet done any research, valuable information can be found by visiting www.akc.org  and clicking on the breeds tab, or by visiting the Bulldog Club of America at www.thebca.org.
